The Mojave Desert Information Center is a multi-agency visitor center hosted by California State Parks for the visitors and residents of the Mojave Desert, featuring brochures, maps, educational displays, and other information about the recreational opportunities that can be found in and around the Antelope Valley. The staffmembers are very knowledgeable about the local community and are an excellent information resource, with first-hand experience at the parks and other attractions of the area.
The MDIC also has an educational store with a wide variety of apparel, books, toys, and educational gift items highlighting the local natural and cultural history. Sale proceeds benefit both the Poppy Reserve/Mojave Desert Interpretive Association and the Friends of the Antelope Valley Indian Museum, non-profit cooperating associations that fund Mojave Desert State Park projects and programs.
The MDIC also serves as a coordination center for several programs at our local state parks. Tour reservations for Tomo-Kahni, school fieldtrips and classroom programs, and other events are all arranged through the MDIC.
